The western area of the city, including Lien Chieu district and 4 northern communes of Hoa Vang district (Hoa Lien, Hoa Bac, Hoa Son and Hoa Ninh), is a large area, geographically located far from the city center, so it is very difficult for people in the area to access cultural centers and large entertainment areas of the city.
This is also where 8 universities, colleges and 5 high-tech parks and large industrial parks of the city are concentrated. Not to mention, the area is also being planned to build 2 new industrial parks and industrial clusters. While other districts in the city have been planned to invest in building at least 2 district-level Cultural and Sports Centers, Lien Chieu District only has 1.
On May 27, information from the Office of Da Nang City People's Committee, this locality has just approved the investment policy of the project to renovate and upgrade the central square of the Northwestern region of the city. The project is located in Hoa Minh ward, Lien Chieu district, with a total estimated investment of more than VND 100 billion from the city budget.
The objective of the project is to upgrade the existing square into a provincial multifunctional space, serving the organization of political, economic, cultural and social events for people and visitors. The project also aims to joints, embellish landscapes, create green space, improve urban beauty for the area.
The project scale includes the upgrade, renovation and expansion of the existing square with an estimated area of 35,235 m2, including the current area of upgrading, renovating, the conversion area from Ho Ba On Street and the extended area to the Northeast borders Hoang Thi Loan street. Architectural items, landscapes, technical infrastructure, equipment will be specifically determined through the design of the design plan. Taking advantage of the current infrastructure and trees is also noted in the design process.
The project is divided into two implementation phases: the investment preparation phase from 2025 to 2026 and the implementation phase from 2026 to 2028. The project investor is the Management Board of Da Nang City Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects.
