The University Village Project in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc was approved for planning by the Prime Minister in 1997. The project has a total area of 300ha, including 110ha belonging to Hoa Quy ward, Ngu Hanh Son district (now Ngu Hanh Son ward) and 190ha belonging to Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Ban district (now Dien Ban Dong ward).
Up to now, in Ngu Hanh Son ward, compensation and site clearance (GPMB) have been completed for 78.95ha (reaching more than 71%). Meanwhile, the entire area of 190ha located in Dien Ban Dong ward has not yet been compensated.
Da Nang Department of Construction said that on October 14, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 2829/QD-BGDDT approving the investment policy for the compensation, site clearance and construction of technical infrastructure for the remaining 31.05ha area in Ngu Hanh Son ward.
The total investment for this part is expected to be 794.6 billion VND, implemented in the period 2025 - 2028. Currently, the city has approved and implemented resettlement areas to serve the relocation of the University Village from local funding.
The City People's Committee has also proactively supplemented the land fund from the Southwest Resettlement Area of Non Nuoc Stone Craft Village to meet the resettlement needs of this project.
Currently, Da Nang City People's Committee is continuing to work with Da Nang University to propose to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education and Training to consider prioritizing supplementing the capital plan. The highest goal is to soon complete the remaining 31.05ha in the city, eliminating the situation of " leopard skin" in planning, causing difficulties for management and people's lives.
