On January 15, Da Nang City People's Committee issued an order to build an emergency project to overcome the consequences of natural disasters on National Highway 14G due to the impact of storm No. 12 and heavy rain lasting from the end of October 2025.
The project has a budget of about 5 billion VND, focusing on handling negative taluy landslides at Km39+040, Km41+400 and Km47+190 locations. Currently, landslide soil and rock have penetrated deep into the foundation of National Highway 14G, directly threatening the safety of vehicles. The main items of the project include restoring the roadbed with stone embankments or cement concrete; repairing 4 eroded culverts and restoring 356m of longitudinal ditches. The project is implemented in Hoa Vang, Song Vang, Song Kon, Dong Giang communes and must be completed before April 15.
On the same day, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung signed a decision to issue an emergency construction order on National Highway 14D. The project has an estimated cost of 11.7 billion VND, deployed in the areas of Ben Giang, Nam Giang and La De communes. In which, temporarily overcome the landslide locations of negative taluy and repair the road surface at heavily damaged locations with high traffic congestion risk. The completion deadline for this project is before April 30.
The City People's Committee requested to focus on repairing the road surface at locations passing through schools, state agencies and densely populated areas.
Specifically, on National Highway 14G, the total repair area is about 8,700m2. In which, sections passing through schools will be paved with asphalt concrete to ensure smoothness and safety for students. Sections passing through residential areas will be paved with asphalt and supplemented with a signaling system according to National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2024/BGTVT.
The city's goal is to prevent major damage from arising, avoid damage to construction structures and prevent traffic disruptions, affecting people's lives.
The Department of Construction is responsible for proactively selecting capable contractors to carry out surveys, designs, supervision and construction; and at the same time strictly manage the quality and completion dossiers according to regulations. The investor is responsible before the law and the Chairman of the City People's Committee for the assigned tasks.
Regarding capital sources, the Department of Finance presides over and coordinates with departments and agencies to advise the City People's Committee to balance and allocate funds in a timely manner. In addition, the People's Committees of communes where the project passes through are responsible for closely coordinating with the Department of Construction to accelerate progress and soon put the project into operation.
