According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City on September 20, Thanh Chiem palace was built by Tien Nguyen Hoang in 1602 on the northern bank of Thu Bon River (now Thanh Chiem 1 block, Dien Ban ward), an important milestone in the expansion of the Nguyen Dynasty in Dang Trong.

In particular, since 1615, this place has become the cradle of the National Language, when Western teachers and the cooperation of local people formed a system of Vietnamese amation using the same Latin model. Thanh Chiem Town was recognized as a national monument in 2017).
With its special historical and cultural values, in March 2024, the Standing Committee of Dien Ban Town Party Committee (old) agreed in principle to organize a competition for planning ideas for Thanh Chiem town area to connect tourism development, recreate the architecture of Thanh Chiem town and build a stele of the National Language.
Currently, due to the process of confirming the two-level government, the plan is temporarily stopped at the step of giving comments on regulations and design tasks.
In addition, the project to preserve, restore and renovate the relic site of Cham Khuong My Tower aims to preserve the remaining original elements and restore some damaged and lost architectural and artistic components; Prevent the risk of collapse, enhance long-term sustainability and stability for the relic structure.
Up to now, the project to preserve, restore the North Tower and the Middle Tower in the Cham Khuong My Tower relic site, the tower body and the East gate with a total investment of nearly 12.6 billion VND has been accepted and put into use since December 2022, and the warranty period has now expired.
The project to preserve, renovate and restore the South Tower in the Cham Khuong My Tower relic site has completed the selection of contractors under construction.
Based on the actual inspection and listening to the report on the status of the two relic sites, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that Thanh Chiem palace and Khuong My tower are two relics with long-standing cultural and historical values, bearing the status of national and international heritages; Preserving, preserving and promoting the heritage values of the relic sites is very necessary.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently coordinate with local authorities, the Department of Finance, the Department of Construction and relevant agencies and units to study, synthesize and evaluate all contents related to the two relic sites to report and advise the City People's Committee to organize a thematic meeting on Thanh Chiem castle relic and Khuong My to discuss specific plans and solutions for the conservation of relics.
Regarding the Khuong My Tower relic site, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi noted that it is necessary to coordinate and discuss with experts who are implementing the project to restore the My Son Holy Site relic site to propose solutions to overcome the phenomenon of saltwater flooding and brick mortar on the brick surface to ensure long-term effectiveness.
