On May 4, in Sam Linh Tay village, Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang city, the Party Committee and the Military Command of Da Nang city organized the Inauguration Ceremony of the Memorial Area where the Vu Hung Guerrilla Team was established - the predecessor of the armed forces of Da Nang city.

81 years ago, on the night of May 4, 1945, the Vu Hung Guerrilla Team was established under the direction of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, to promote the anti-Japanese resistance movement for national salvation, preparing for the August Revolution in 1945.
From 30 initial team members with rudimentary weapons, the Vu Hung Guerrilla Team has become an important nucleus, laying the foundation for the birth, construction, combat and growth of the Quang Nam - Da Nang armed forces, now the Da Nang city armed forces.
At the ceremony, Colonel Vo Van Tuan, Political Commissar of Da Nang City Military Command, said that the Memorial Area project where the Vu Hung Guerrilla Team was established is not only a place to mark an important historical event, but also a symbol of the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", expressing deep gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
In a solemn atmosphere, leaders of Military Region 5, city leaders and Heads of the City Military Command performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, inauguration of the relic stele, planting memorial trees, keeping souvenir books and visiting the relic site.

The Organizing Committee also presented gifts of gratitude to the relatives of the members of the Vu Hung Guerrilla Team, expressing the feelings and responsibility of today's generation towards those who contributed to writing the glorious history of Quang Nam - Da Nang homeland "Faithful, Courageous".
Putting the project into use will contribute to enriching the system of "red addresses" in the city; it is a place to educate revolutionary traditions, foster patriotism, national pride for cadres, soldiers and people, especially the young generation.
For the city's armed forces, the memorial area is a sacred spiritual support, reminding each officer and soldier today to continue to cultivate political bravery, maintain the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", promote glorious traditions, and be ready to receive and successfully complete all assigned tasks.
