Da Nang - Organizing a memorial service and burial of 4 sets of remains of martyrs gathered at Da Sap Cave, Ha Nha commune.

On the afternoon of July 31, at the Martyrs' Cemetery of Ha Nha commune, Da Nang city, the Party Committee, government, armed forces and local people solemnly organized a ceremony to pay respects, commemorate and bury 4 sets of remains of martyrs who have not been identified, found and repatriated at Da Sap Cave, Lam Tay mountain, Dai Dong village, Ha Nha commune.

Attending the ceremony were Colonel Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of Da Nang City; representatives of the City Steering Committee 515, City Department of Home Affairs; Liaison Committee of Artillery Regiment 575 - Front 44 Quang Da; leaders of local Party committees and authorities, along with officers and soldiers of the armed forces and a large number of people in the area.

The search for martyrs' remains at Da Sap Cave was deployed from July 12 as part of the "Operation 500 Days and Nights" to search, repatriate and identify martyrs' remains with missing information.

Based on the results of meeting witnesses, studying dossiers and documents, organizing seminars and field surveys, the City Military Command mobilized forces to approach locations suspected of having martyrs' remains.

On July 13, the search force discovered the first 5 sets of martyrs' remains; on July 14, the martyrs were held a memorial service and buried at Ha Nha Commune Martyrs' Cemetery. Continuing to expand the search scope, on July 20, functional forces discovered 2 more sets of remains; on July 22, 1 set of remains was discovered and then the 9th set of martyrs' remains was found.

Four martyrs' remains being commemorated and buried in this phase have raised the total number of martyrs' remains found at Da Sap Cave to 9.

Da Sap Cave has a particularly rugged terrain, the cave entrance was blown down by bombs, covered with soil and rocks; the inside is cramped, lacking light, with many branches and potential landslide risks.

In extremely difficult conditions, officers and soldiers still persistently stayed at the scene, carefully peeling off each layer of soil and rock; collecting remains, artifacts and biological samples tightly and in accordance with procedures, serving the work of verifying and identifying martyrs.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, delegates offered flowers and incense, observed a minute of silence, and expressed their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

After the memorial service, the remains of the martyrs were moved, buried, and properly and solemnly buried in the heart of the motherland by officers and soldiers.

Bringing 9 martyrs back is not the end of the search. Functional forces continue to expand the scope, inspect each suspicious location and trace, with the determination that when there is still information and signs, they will organize verification and search, bringing the martyrs back to their comrades, homeland and relatives.
