At the Forum of Friendship and Cooperation Cities - Da Nang 2025 held on the afternoon of January 17, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang said that today's forum is not only a place to exchange experiences, cooperation initiatives and sustainable socio-economic development, but also a place for Da Nang in particular and international cities in general to meet and exchange. At the same time, it strengthens friendship and builds sustainable relationships. At this forum, Da Nang has connected with the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan and the city of Genoa, Italy.
2025 is an important time, a pivotal year entering a new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise. Therefore, the Secretary of the City Party Committee made 5 commitments and suggestions at this forum.
Firstly, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang suggested that Da Nang's foreign policy goals in the new era should be based on the foundation of sincerity, trust, respect, equality and mutual prosperity.
Second, Da Nang identifies economic diplomacy as the spearhead, promoting science and technology diplomacy as the focus.
Third, Da Nang always attaches importance to bilateral cooperation, maintains dialogue mechanisms, promotes and deepens the city's local-level international cooperation in all political, economic and cultural fields.
Fourth, on the multilateral level, Da Nang will always be ready to promote a proactive and active role in networks and forums of which the city is a member.
And finally, positioning Da Nang as the growth pole and integration pole of the Central region of Vietnam, Da Nang needs to mobilize resources in trade and investment, update development trends and economic linkages, and utilize the power of the era of scientific and technological revolution, digital transformation, and knowledge economy as the foundation to promote the city's "rise" in the new era.
"Da Nang City hopes to continue receiving the attention and timely direction of the Government, the support and coordination of central ministries and branches, contributions from diplomatic agencies, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, the business community and especially the companionship of 50 international localities in Da Nang's cooperation map," said Mr. Nguyen Van Quang.
