Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Nam Hung has just signed a telegram directing departments, branches, sectors, localities and related units to proactively respond to natural disasters in the next 10 days and extreme weather trends until the end of 2025.
According to the Department of Hydrometeorology, on October 16, a new tropical depression (ATND) appeared in the sea east of the Philippines, likely to strengthen into a storm in the next 1-2 days, with a probability of 7080%. The storm is forecast to move into the northeastern area of the East Sea around October 19/20.
Due to the influence of the tropical depression, from the afternoon of October 18, the northern and central East Sea, including the Hoang Sa archipelago, will have gradually stronger winds and rough seas. Meanwhile, from October 16 to 18, the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have moderate rain, heavy rain, common rainfall of 70150mm, some places over 350mm; Thua Thien Hue will have over 500mm.
After October 19, moderate and heavy rain will continue. In particular, from October 23 to 26, the Central region will be affected by a combination of cold air and high-altitude easterly wind disturbances, which can cause heavy rain and floods in river basins from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai.
In the face of complicated weather developments, the City People's Committee requires departments, branches, sectors and localities to strictly implement directives on natural disaster prevention and control; organize a 24/7 duty, monitor forecasts and prepare response plans.

The Department of Construction was assigned to take charge of flood prevention, clear sewers, operate pumping stations and South American regulating lakes, and prune trees and reinforce the works. The Department of Agriculture and Environment monitors and directs the safety of dams, dykes, agricultural production, and aquaculture.
