The first heavy rain of this year's flood season began in the Central region last night until this morning (October 16). In Da Nang City, from the morning of October 16, there was also heavy rain.
The rain will be divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 from now until October 20, heavy rain in waves, heavy rain and rai during the day. The frequency of rain will almost last all day, with occasional drops. Rainfall ranges from 150-300mm, in some places over 300mm.
In the second period from October 22 to October 28, the rain will increase. The amount of rainfall for our city alone is about 350-500mm, in some places over 600mm. Beware of localized heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding on streets and low-lying areas.
According to the Central Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 6 hours (from 8am to 2pm on October 16), Da Nang City has had moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places, with measured rainfall in Hoa Bac 109.6mm, Ho An Long (Que Son) 87.8mm, Que Son 119.4mm, Phuoc Ha Lake Top 93.6mm... Some areas in the city have reached a soil saturatation level of over 80%, posing a potential risk of landslides, subsidence and flash floods.

The Central Hydrometeorological Station also forecasts that from now until October 18, Da Nang will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain, with total rainfall ranging from 100-200mm, in some places over 300mm, warning of level 1 natural disaster risk.
Accordingly, from about 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. the same day, on central streets such as Nguyen Van Linh, Le Duan, Tran Phu, Bach Dang... vehicles were seriously congested due to prolonged heavy rain, some sections of the road were flooded, making it difficult for people to move after rush hour.
The authorities and traffic police have been mobilized to direct traffic, support people, and ensure safe traffic in unfavorable weather conditions.
