Da Nang - Functional forces gather 3 sets of remains of martyrs in Ha Nha commune after receiving information from witnesses and local authorities.

On August 4, the Team for Searching and Repatriating Martyrs' Remains of the Military Command (CHQS) of Da Nang City coordinated with agencies, units and localities to organize excavation and exhumation of 3 martyrs' remains in Ngoc Kinh village, Ha Nha commune.

Previously, after receiving information from the Military Command of Thuong Duc commune, the City Military Command directed specialized forces to urgently survey and verify.

According to witnesses, in this area there used to be a tomb area about 15m long, preserved by people, incense burned for many years. This is also an area that has witnessed many fierce battles from 1965 to 1974, many officers, soldiers and guerrillas sacrificed but have not been gathered.

During the excavation, functional forces discovered skulls, arm bones and leg bones of 3 martyrs' remains. The remains are no longer intact, showing signs of being affected by war bombs and bullets. Some artifacts found at the scene include helmet straps, pith helmet shells and fabric pieces.

Through initial information collected and artifact characteristics at the scene, functional forces determined that the 3 remains were suspected to be of martyrs belonging to the special forces. The unit, identity and time of sacrifice of the martyrs are being further verified and clarified.

After completing the dossiers and procedures according to regulations, at 8:30 am on August 5, Ha Nha Commune People's Committee will organize a memorial service and burial of 3 martyrs' remains at Dai Dong Martyrs' Cemetery, Ha Nha commune.
