According to Da Nang City People's Committee, in the first quarter of 2026, the inspection of food production and business establishments will be implemented with focus, key points, and targeted subjects; focusing on the Lunar New Year.

The Sub-Department of Food Safety (FSFS) inspected 330 establishments, discovered and fined 12 violating establishments. At the same time, rapid borax testing was carried out for 15 food samples, all of which met the requirements; 7 food samples were taken for borax identification testing, and the results all met the requirements.
During the period, the Sub-Department inspected and issued Certificates of eligibility for food safety for 251 establishments. Accumulated to date, certificates have been issued to 3,165 establishments under management, reaching a rate of 100%.
Product announcement is carried out in accordance with regulations. In the first quarter, the Sub-Department received and posted 337 self-announced products of enterprises; accumulated to date is 8,786 products.
Regarding the work of receiving and processing feedback information and preventing food poisoning, from February 12 to March 19, 2026, the Sub-Department recorded 7 suspected botulinum poisoning cases related to fermented fish in Phuoc Chanh and Phuoc Nang communes, with no deaths. In the following days, a number of suspected poisoning cases after eating fermented fish continued to be recorded. The unit took samples and sent them to the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang for testing to determine the cause.
At the same time, the Sub-Department received information about a suspected food poisoning case related to milk tea in the Bac Tra My area. Received 5 reflections from people through the hotline and has transferred them to localities for handling according to regulations.
The work of supervising and ensuring food safety at festivals, events, and conferences has been seriously and effectively implemented, and no incidents have occurred during the events.
The food traceability system continues to be maintained and operate effectively. The Sub-Department has issued 4,000 stamps and 60,700 traceability stamp codes; inspected and supervised 10 establishments participating in the system; signed cooperation agreements with 2 new establishments.
Faced with the increasingly diverse food consumption needs of people and tourists, and the risk of food insecurity tending to increase if not strictly controlled from the beginning, the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to preside over and comprehensively direct state management of food safety; strengthen inspection, examination, and post-inspection of food production and business establishments, especially collective kitchens, school kitchens, and street food businesses.
Strengthen thematic inspections for production and business establishments; focus on collective kitchens, schools and units providing meals. Strengthen supervision and risk warning; promptly detect, handle or propose strict handling of violations, especially intentional violations and recidivism.
