Da Nang - The health of 43 people poisoned after eating banh mi thit cha has recovered. The banh mi shop is also temporarily closed to serve the investigation of the cause.

On June 17, in an exchange with Lao Dong reporters, leaders of Quang Nam Regional General Hospital - affirmed that 43 patients admitted to the hospital after eating bread with meat and sausage were cases of food poisoning. Currently, the patients' health is basically stable, no severe cases have been recorded.

According to the hospital, from June 13 to 16, the unit received 43 patients, including 22 children hospitalized with symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, vomiting - these are symptoms of food poisoning - hospital leaders said.

Through epidemiological exploitation, the patients all used banh mi thit cha at the same business establishment near Tong market, Dien Ban ward, Da Nang city on the morning of June 13. After a few hours of eating, many people began to show symptoms of digestive disorders, severe abdominal pain, fever, vomiting and diarrhea many times, so they were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Immediately after the collective poisoning incident, Dien Ban ward also inspected and requested the bread stall to temporarily close, cooperate with functional agencies to investigate the cause of the poisoning; focus on tracing the origin of raw materials, taking food samples and clarifying the cause of dozens of people having to be hospitalized after meals.

Among the 43 patients, 22 children are being monitored and treated at the Department of Pediatrics. The remaining cases are received at the Departments of Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology and Emergency Medicine.

The hospital and the health sector have taken samples for testing to identify the cause of poisoning, and at the same time deployed intensive treatment, water and electrolyte rehydration, and closely monitored the patient's health developments.
