The Da Nang Protection Forest Management Board has just publicly announced the selection of organizations and individuals to lease forest environments for raising, planting, developing and harvesting Ngoc Linh ginseng and other medicinal plants in Tra Linh commune, Da Nang city.
According to the plan approved by the Da Nang City Department of Agriculture and Environment, the total area of protection forest implementing the plan is 1,574.92ha in Sub-areas 891, 892, 894 and 895 of Tra Linh commune. Of which 1,573.89ha is land with natural forest and 1.03ha is land without forest.
The expected area for leasing forest environment for raising, planting, developing and harvesting Ngoc Linh ginseng and other medicinal plants is 472.17ha.
The list of medicinal plants includes Ngoc Linh Ginseng, Hoang Lien, Linh Chi Mushroom, Ca Gai Leo, Kim Tien Thao, Giao Co Lam, Che Day, Dang Sam, Duong Quy, Ba Kich, Ha Thu O and That Diep Nhat Chi Hoa. Among them, Ngoc Linh Ginseng is identified as the key plant.
The types of trees are planted scattered or in patches under the forest canopy. The plan does not implement the raising, planting, development and harvesting of medicinal plants in the headwater protection forest area with a slope of over 30 degrees. The average expected proportion of medicinal plant planting area is 30% of the forest area in each area.
Forest owners are expected to let organizations, individuals, households, cooperatives or businesses that need to lease forest environment to carry out activities according to regulations. The forest environment rental price is not lower than 5% of the total revenue made in the year within the leased area.
The lease term is no more than 10 years. In case the lessee performs the contract correctly and has a need to extend it, the forest owner considers extending the term according to regulations.
The entire area implementing the plan will apply measures to improve forest quality such as zoning, promoting natural regeneration, clearing vines, selectively competing shrubs, planting additional native trees, enriching forests and protecting regenerating trees.
Organizations and individuals who need to submit dossiers within 30 days from the date the notice is issued at the Da Nang Protection Forest Management Board, No. 100 Hung Vuong, Tam Ky ward, Da Nang city.
