On October 22, at a meeting of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee online with localities to deploy response work to storm No. 12 in 2025 chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Nam Hung said that up to this point, the city is at the highest level ready to respond to storms, especially heavy rain and heavy flooding.
According to Mr. Hung, Da Nang City is very worried about mountainous areas with 91 points at risk of landslides, and most of the suburban areas are flooded. The city has prepared response scenarios for each situation and level.
The city is also very proactive in the face of storm No. 12 information and has activated all flood and storm prevention plans since 2 days ago. Da Nang established 3 forward commanders in the mountainous areas of the West and South and concentrated in the city, all directly commanded by Vice Chairmen of the City People's Committee.
Mr. Nam said that the regulating lakes have been regulated since the morning of October 20. Up to now, 121 lakes in the area have returned to the maximum low water level according to the permitted scenario, and through on-site inspection, they have been strictly implemented. The city is determined to let all students stay home from school from noon on October 22 until tomorrow.

"The city mobilizes all means to be ready, especially about 50 small boats ready to move into each residential area, handling situations quickly. Require that when there is information from the people to the local command post and the forces that have been made public, they must be present for at least 15 minutes to help the people.
More than 1,000 life jackets have been distributed to people in key flooded areas. People prepare food reserves to ensure 3 days, proactively in the spirit of not accepting instant noodles or shrimp relief, and report when necessary. We mainly care for the people, currently, each household has announced to raise their belongings, ready for evacuation to complete by 5:00 p.m. this afternoon", Mr. Hung emphasized.

Also on the morning of October 22, the working group of Military Region 5, led by Colonel Phan Dai Nghia, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Military Region, inspected the response preparation work of the Da Nang City Military Command. Accompanying him was Colonel Tran Quang Chanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the City Military Command.
Checking the residential area of Me Suot Street, Hoa Khanh Ward, where flooding often occurs during heavy rains, Colonel Phan Dai Nghia listened to the City Military Command and local authorities report on the response plan.

The Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Military Region also inspected the area where people are expected to be evacuated at Da Nang National University of Education, requesting forces to carefully prepare facilities, logistics, ensure temporary accommodation, food, accommodation, medical care and living facilities for the people.
Currently, the Da Nang Military Command has organized permanent mobile teams and teams in key areas, arranging forces, vehicles, and materials to ensure quick response when situations arise; at the same time, directing agencies, units, and militia forces to inspect, reinforce shelters, warehouses, equipment, prepare enough food, medicine, life jackets, and rescue boats, and be ready to support people when storm No. 12 directly affects the city.
