On September 1, Canal 7 Prison - Department of Police for Management of Prisons, compulsory education institutions, kindergartens - Ministry of Public Security (located in An Giang province), held a ceremony to announce the President's Decision on amnesty in the second phase of 2025 for 167 prisoners.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Vu - Deputy Warden, in charge of Kenh 7 Prison emphasized: special leniency policy, demonstrating the humane and humane tradition of our Party and State, creating opportunities for those who have made mistakes to correct their mistakes, rebuild their lives, and continue to fully exercise the rights and obligations of a citizen. Hopefully, those who have been granted amnesty today will clearly recognize their past mistakes, appreciate their freedom and values, maintain family happiness, respect the law, stay away from evil, and know how to take advantage of the profession they have learned in prison to work, produce, and build a new life.
Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Vu also affirmed that the work of considering and proposing an amnesty at Kenh 7 Prison was carried out seriously, publicly, transparently, and in accordance with legal procedures.
With a high sense of responsibility, prison staff have persistently encouraged, taught vocational skills, and created a healthy reform environment for prisoners to realize their mistakes and be determined to return their salaries. It is this sharing, closeness and dedication that has helped many prisoners make remarkable progress, comply with discipline, and work enthusiastically to produce, thereby qualifying for amnesty.
Moved when holding the special pardon decision in hand, Prisoner P.Q.A (residing in Can Tho City) shared: "This is a precious opportunity for me to start over. I promise to work hard, live honestly, and not lose the trust of prison staff, family and society.
Prisoner B.A.K (Phu Quoc Special Zone) said: "Thanks to the education and enthusiasm of the prison staff, I have today. I would like to thank the Party and State and promise to stay away from old mistakes and strive to become a useful citizen.
On this occasion, Kenh 7 Prison and other units also presented many gifts to prisoners with difficult family circumstances who are serving their sentences.
