At the age of 76, veteran Nguyen Thanh Bang (Phu Tho) still maintains the strong spirit of a soldier in battle. On the morning of September 1, from 6am, he and his 2 children took a bus from Phu Tho to Hanoi to join the crowd waiting for the parade, the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
I have gone through war, seen the sacrifice to maintain independence. Tomorrow, I will certainly be extremely excited and proud to see the army in peacetime, more powerful and more mature than ever. That was the moment I waited for my whole life, he said.
