Son La Border Guard has organized 121 unilateral patrols and 1,605 bilateral patrols; successfully coordinated the fight against 38 drug crimes and human trafficking; handled 986 cases with 1,208 subjects related to drug crimes, smuggling, and human trafficking. Basic term targets achieved and exceeded.

For the 2025 - 2030 term, the Son La Provincial Border Guard Party Committee has set out 12 targets and 3 breakthroughs, focusing on comprehensive innovation of border management and protection measures; improving combat readiness; strengthening border gate management; effectively implementing foreign affairs, national defense, border defense and people's foreign affairs; building a strong people's border defense.
