On January 12, the Traffic Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police, said that in 2024, through the camera system monitoring traffic safety violations, the unit detected and sent 5,890 violation notices.
According to statistics, in 2024, there were 438 traffic accidents in the province, killing 278 people, injuring 313 people and damaging 630 vehicles. Compared to 2023, the number of accidents decreased by 3.3%, but the number of deaths increased by 3% and the number of injuries increased by 5.74%.
The leader of the Traffic Police Department, Provincial Police said that before, during and after Tet, the Traffic Police force in the whole province will increase patrols and controls.
Key areas including the gateway to Buon Ma Thuot city, bus stations and national highways will be focused on. The goal is to ensure traffic safety and reasonable traffic flow to avoid congestion. Authorities will also strictly handle cases of alcohol concentration violations.
Major General Le Vinh Quy, Director of Dak Lak Provincial Police, requested to improve the quality of propaganda work, replicate the model of ensuring traffic safety and build a good image of traffic police officers and soldiers.
The goal in 2025 is to reduce traffic accidents by 5% on all three criteria and not to have very serious traffic accidents.
