On June 26, Binh Duong Water - Environment Corporation (Biwase) started construction of a 12MW waste-to-energy plant project invested by Biwase.
According to Mr. Tran Chien Cong - General Director of Biwase, waste has long been a nightmare problem in many localities, waste treatment takes a lot of time and resources. However, in Binh Duong, garbage becomes the starting point for a regeneration journey.
Every day, about 3,000 tons of domestic and industrial waste are transferred to Binh Duong Waste Treatment Complex. Instead of burying, Biwase chooses to "revive" each part of the waste, turning the burden of waste into useful products such as organic fertilizer, bricks, concrete, etc., aiming for sustainable development under the direction of the leaders of Binh Duong province.

Binh Duong province has built the first waste-to-energy plant project with a capacity of 5MW to be put into use in early 2024. Following this project, Biwase continues research to invest in a larger-capacity waste-to-energy plant. This plant can handle from 200 to 500 tons/day, equivalent to a power generation capacity of 12MW.
Phase 1 of the project has a total investment of 45 million USD, equivalent to about 1,150 billion VND.
The unit selects advanced machinery and equipment from Germany and India. The Vietnamese engineering team will design and install the equipment. The project will be built and completed in 2 years (2025 - 2026).
