On November 10, the 6th session of the People's Council of Dong Nai province, term X, passed resolutions assigning competent authorities to implement investment projects to build Cat Lai bridge, Long Hung bridge (Dong Nai 2 bridge) and Phu My 2 bridge under the public-private partnership (PPP) method.
Accordingly, the People's Council of Dong Nai province passed a resolution to agree to assign the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee as the competent authority to implement the Phu My 2 bridge construction investment project; Assign the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee as the competent authority to implement the Cat Lai bridge construction investment projects and the Dong Nai 2 bridge construction investment project.
Also at the meeting, the People's Council of Dong Nai province also passed a resolution on agreeing on the policy of assigning the governing body to use public investment capital to implement 3 more bridge construction projects connecting Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City.
Agree to assign the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee as the managing agency to implement the investment project to build Thanh Hoi 2 bridge, Tan An bridge (Tan An - Lac An bridge); Assign the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to invest in the Tan Hien bridge construction project (Tan Hien - Thuong Tan bridge).
The current transportation system connecting Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City is mainly based on 3 transportation methods: road, rail, and waterway, of which road transport is the main method.
However, with the high density of vehicles, existing roads are overloaded, causing continuous congestion such as National Highway 1, National Highway 51... Although in the past, the routes connecting the two provinces have been directed to be implemented such as the beltway, expressway, and regional linkage, they have not yet met expectations and traffic needs, especially when Long Thanh International Airport was officially put into operation.
The investment in transportation projects connecting Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City aims to gradually complete the transportation system according to the Southeast region planning, Dong Nai province planning, improve transportation capacity, enhance connectivity between neighboring localities, serve the needs of travel, goods transportation and socio-economic development of the two localities.
