On May 18, information from the Dong Nai Department of Construction said that the Provincial People's Committee is proposing to the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee to seek the opinion of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to approve the implementation policy of the Cat Lai ferry replacement bridge project (Cat Lai bridge).
The Cat Lai bridge project across the Dong Nai river is an inter-regional project between Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City with a cross-section of 6 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 mixed lanes, built in Nhon Trach district (Dong Nai province).
The project has a total investment of VND 19,391 billion invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
Previously, on April 17, 2025, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province issued document No. 4350/UBND-KTN approving the Department of Construction to conduct promotion and search for investors integrated into the Dong Nai Province Investment Promotion Conference in 2025 approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Plan No. 101/KH-UBND dated March 20, 2025 with project categories to invite investors in the field of transport infrastructure connection.
The Cat Lai Bridge project has a total length of more than 11km of road and bridge, of which Cat Lai Bridge is more than 3km long. The project has a starting point on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, about 400m from My Thuy intersection; the end point connects to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway at km 33+500.
