Lai Chau - The resettlement area for households who lost their homes due to flash floods in Muong Than is being accelerated in construction progress.

On August 4, in an exchange with reporters, Mr. Hoang Phi Hung - Vice Chairman of Muong Than Commune People's Committee said that after the first 7 houses were handed over, construction conditions are still favorable, creating conditions to complete all 24 houses according to the plan.

It is expected that the remaining houses will be handed over to the people on August 6.

Recently, at a meeting directing the construction of resettlement areas, Vice Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee Ha Trong Hai requested the Provincial Military Command to focus manpower and vehicles, accelerate construction progress, and strive to complete and hand over houses to people before August 5.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned relevant units to urgently complete procedures for issuing land use right certificates to hand over to households, and at the same time develop a plan to organize a house handover ceremony.

Households arranged for resettlement must commit not to transfer land use rights for a period of 5 years.

For Muong Than commune, provincial leaders requested the locality to soon complete the handover of land, strengthen propaganda, dialogue with people and publicize support policies for 20 households subject to resettlement.

Old and weak households and lonely households will be arranged with forces to support relocation and soon stabilize their accommodation.

Previously, on July 30, the Military Command of Lai Chau province coordinated with departments, branches and local authorities to hand over the first 7 resettlement houses to households who completely lost their homes in the flood that occurred on July 17.

These are the first houses in the resettlement area construction project for 24 households who lost their homes according to Decision No. 1517 of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee.

To ensure progress, the Provincial Military Command has mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers along with vehicles and machinery to organize continuous construction in San Bay village, Muong Than commune.

The forward command center was also established right at the construction site to promptly remove difficulties in the implementation process.

Despite prolonged rain, complex terrain and large volume of leveling, the construction force still maintains working day and night in a rolling manner to soon complete the entire resettlement area, helping households stabilize their lives after the natural disaster.
