Phu Tho - Phu Tho asked the Ministry of National Defence to help increase the specialized "frogman" force in the process of searching for victims of the Phong Chau bridge collapse.

On September 27, the Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee signed and issued a document to the Ministry of National Defense requesting support and assistance in resolving the Phong Chau bridge incident.

Accordingly, from September 9 to now (since the bridge collapsed), the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has mobilized forces to search for missing people due to the Phong Chau bridge collapse, however, the implementation process still faces many difficulties.

Therefore, Phu Tho province requests the Ministry of National Defence to pay attention and help increase specialized forces (frogmen) to help the province as soon as possible to search for missing people.

During the process of rescue, salvage, and recovery of sunken vehicles due to the collapse of Phong Chau bridge, if any difficulties or complications arise, the Phu Tho Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue will report and request assistance from the Ministry of National Defence.

Up to now, the authorities of Phu Tho province have searched, recovered, identified and handed over the bodies of 4 missing victims in the Phong Chau bridge collapse to the victims' families (3 victims on the river, 1 victim in the truck cabin under the bridge).

Along with searching for missing victims day and night on dozens of kilometers downstream of the Red River, authorities have mobilized many human resources and means to demolish the collapsed Phong Chau bridge structure, salvage the bridge and submerged vehicles from the river to shore.
