Relocate 16 households overnight from landslide risk areas

Dien Bien - Na Tau commune proactively relocated people on the night of August 19 before the risk of landslides occurred.

On August 20, information from the People's Committee of Na Tau commune, in the face of complicated weather developments, the risk of landslides in the Na Cai village area, Na Tau commune (Dien Bien province) is at a high level.

On the night of August 19, local authorities mobilized forces to support 16 households to relocate from dangerous areas, in order to ensure safety of life and property.

As soon as it was determined that the Na Cai village area was at high risk of landslides, the Na Tau Commune Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue directed local forces to quickly approach the area, propagate and mobilize people to proactively move to safe places.

Officials, police, militia and support forces directly help households move people, property and essential items out of areas at risk of being affected.

By 9:30 PM on August 19, 16 households and family members had been relocated to a safe place.

The relocation was deployed urgently, absolutely prioritizing the safety of people's lives, while minimizing the risk of property damage if landslides occur.

According to the Na Tau Commune Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, functional forces continue to closely monitor weather developments, inspect areas at risk of landslides and proactively deploy response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto.

Local authorities are also strengthening propaganda and reminding people not to voluntarily return to dangerous areas without a safety assurance notice.

Proactively relocating people immediately when the risk of landslides is detected is identified as an important solution to minimize damage caused by natural disasters, especially in the context of complicated weather developments.
