Quang Nam - 138 households and 523 people in mountainous Quang Nam had to be urgently evacuated overnight due to complex landslides.

On November 25, the People's Committee of Bac Tra My district (Quang Nam province) - said that the locality had urgently evacuated 138 households and 523 people out of dangerous areas at risk of landslides.

In recent days, Bac Tra My district has had heavy rain over a large area, causing rivers and streams to rise rapidly. Landslides have appeared on National Highway 24C running through Tra Giang and Tra Nu communes and the road from Tra Giap commune to Tra Ka.

Many hills have been soaked with water, with a high risk of landslides threatening people's lives. On the night of November 24, Bac Tra My district mobilized emergency forces to evacuate 138 households with 523 people in 8 communes and towns at high risk of landslides to safety.

As of noon today, in Nam Tra My district, there were 4 landslides, 1 school partially collapsed; Prolonged heavy rain also caused landslides, cutting off traffic on National Highway 40B (through Bac Tra My), National Highway 14E (through Phuoc Son) and provincial roads, inter-commune roads through Nam and Bac Tra My districts.
