On the afternoon of September 15, the leader of the Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh Province confirmed that an accident had just occurred between a passenger car and a motorbike in Tam Quan Nam Ward (Hoai Nhon Town), causing the death of a couple.
"This morning, a couple rode a motorbike to a parent meeting. When they reached Km4+900 on the East-West connecting route intersecting with Mai Xuan Thuong Street (Tang Long 2 Quarter, Tam Quan Nam Ward), they collided with a passenger car. The accident resulted in the death of both the couple. The cause of the accident was determined to be the fault of both the passenger car and the motorbike," he said.
According to initial information, at around 7:33 a.m. the same day, a passenger car with license plate 005.32 driven by Le Van Toi (born in 1984, residing in Hoai Nhon town) was traveling East-West on the East-West connecting route. When arriving at the above location, the passenger car collided with a motorbike driven by Ly Van Th (born in 1988, residing in Hoai Nhon town) carrying his wife Nguyen Thi L (born in 1990, residing in Phu Cat district). The accident resulted in the death of both Th and L.
The scene of the accident showed that Th and his motorbike were stuck under the passenger car and dragged for several meters. L was lying motionless on the road, about ten meters away from the passenger car.
The cause of the accident was determined to be that the passenger car did not pay attention and did not slow down appropriately at a section of road with a warning sign. The motorbike was coming from a non-priority road and did not yield to vehicles on the priority road.
