On April 1, La Lay Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) confirmed that a serious traffic accident had just occurred in the area, killing one person and seriously injuring another.
According to initial information, around noon on March 31, Mr. Ho Van Khet (52 years old) and Mrs. Le Thi H (50 years old) were driving a motorbike from the field back home. When moving on the road, the motorbike suddenly lost its brakes and plunged into a drainage pit along the road.
The strong collision caused both to be seriously injured, and the vehicle was heavily damaged. At about 4 pm on the same day, local people discovered the incident, but Ms. Huu died, and Mr. Khet was taken to Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment.
It is known that Mr. and Mrs. Khet have 6 children, belonging to poor households, with particularly difficult family circumstances. After completing the procedures, the victim's body was handed over to the family to take care of the funeral according to local customs.
Also in Quang Tri province, on the morning of January 4, a traffic accident occurred in Ben Hai commune on the National Defense road, killing 1 person and injuring one person. Ben Hai Commune People's Committee said that the cause of the accident is currently being investigated and clarified.
