On August 4, information from functional agencies of Tien Dien commune, Ha Tinh province said that a drowning incident had just occurred in the area, killing a man.
According to initial information, at about 5 am on the same day, Mr. L.D. P. (born in 1956, residing in Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province) came to Xuan Thanh beach to swim and unfortunately drowned.
At about 6:30 am, a fisherman while at sea discovered Mr. P. and reported it to the rescue force. The victim was then brought ashore but died.
Local people said that at the time of the incident, the weather in Xuan Thanh beach area was quite favorable, and the sea waves were not large.
Functional agencies and local authorities are completing procedures to hand over the victim's body to the family for funeral arrangements.
