On August 1, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Lam Dong province Luu Van Trung visited and encouraged the families of two children who died in the drowning incident in Quang Khe commune.

At the victim's family, Mr. Luu Van Trung sent his deepest condolences and presented support of 20 million VND to the family. Through this, he wished the family to soon overcome the pain of loss to stabilize their lives.
Mr. Luu Van Trung requested the Party Committee and local authorities, along with organizations and unions, to pay attention to and support the family to take care of the funerals for the children properly.
The Chairman of the People's Council of Lam Dong province also requested local authorities to strengthen propaganda and warn of the risk of drowning, especially during the summer vacation for students; review areas of ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams with potential dangers to plant warning signs and implement preventive measures to prevent similar incidents from happening.

According to leaders of Lam Dong province, recently, tragic drowning incidents related to children have continuously occurred in the area.
Therefore, along with the involvement of the government, families need to strengthen management and supervision of their children, not allowing children to swim arbitrarily in ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams; and at the same time, pay attention to equipping them with drowning prevention skills to limit unfortunate accidents.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported: At about 2 pm on July 31, 5 children invited each other to swim at a natural lake in Phi Mur hamlet, Quang Khe commune.
At about 3 pm, one of the children in the group ran back to report to the family that two sisters N.T. T. (born 2017) and N.T. P. (born 2019) had drowned.
Immediately after receiving the news, relatives took the two children to Dak Nong General Hospital for emergency treatment. However, both victims did not survive.
