HOÀNG LỘC |

Vinh Long - A red address for revolutionary tradition education, fostering the spirit of "Three Firsts", fostering bravery and responsibility for young officers and soldiers.

From the red address to arouse gratitude and pride

Towards the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), Ben Tre Ward Police in coordination with the Youth Union of Co Chien Border Guard Station organized a political activity program at the massacre stele and Ben A101 historical relic site, Thanh Phong commune, Vinh Long province.

In a solemn atmosphere, officers, soldiers and union members respectfully offered incense, observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs and compatriots who sacrificed for national independence. Each incense stick lit is a tribute, reminding today's generation to preserve revolutionary traditions.

The highlight of the program is the meeting with veteran Vo Ngoc Ben, a direct witness to the Khau Bang massacre in 1969. The painful memories he recounted recreated the fierceness of the war, helping young officers and soldiers understand more deeply the value of peace.

Mr. Vo Ngoc Ben emotionally recalled the moment he witnessed his compatriots being murdered in the massacre. The true stories from historical witnesses made many union members silent, further cherishing the great sacrifices of previous generations for national independence.

Nurturing the spirit of "Three Bests" from practical actions

Continuing the journey of gratitude, the working delegation visited and presented gifts to families of martyrs and policy families in Thanh Phong commune. The activity not only shows the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source" but also contributes to spreading the social responsibility of the Police and Border Guard forces.

Assessing the meaning of the program, Major General Tran Thi Be Nhan, former Deputy Director of the Political Security Department, Ministry of Public Security, said that choosing a red address combined with gratitude activities is a practical way, contributing to educating tradition and fostering revolutionary ideals for the young generation.

After the journey, many officers and soldiers expressed a deeper awareness of their responsibilities. Lieutenant Pham Khanh Linh, Ben Tre Ward Police, said that the trip cultivated gratitude, added motivation to study and train to be worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Do Minh Tuan, Political Commissar of Co Chien Border Guard Station, the gratitude program is a practical activity to educate revolutionary traditions, foster patriotism and strengthen military-civilian solidarity.

Lieutenant Colonel Do Minh Tuan said that from historical lessons, young officers and soldiers will foster the spirit of "Most Disciplined - Most Loyal - Closest to the People", improve responsibility, determination to train and serve the People.
