Identifying sustainable livelihood creation as the foundation of poverty reduction policy, in recent times, Son Duong district has implemented many career guidance and vocational training activities.
To meet practical needs, local Party committees have regularly inspected and supervised vocational training. Training quality and effectiveness are given top priority. In recent years, Son Duong district has always actively coordinated with agencies to maximize resources from National Target Programs.
Upgrading facilities and investing in modern equipment also contribute to creating an effective teaching environment. The work of promoting the establishment of close links between vocational training centers and labor recruitment units is always focused on.
Training programs are designed based on actual needs, thereby helping workers find jobs easily. In addition to orientation and propaganda work, tuition support programs and certificate issuance are implemented to create all conditions for workers.
Benefiting from job support, Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (Ninh Lai commune, Son Duong district) has had a stable income to improve his life.
According to Mr. Dong, after participating in a job fair organized by the locality, he was recruited to work at a leather shoe company in the area. His current income is over 7 million VND, enough to cover his expenses.
"Before, I just stayed at home and worked on the fields, my income was unstable so my life was not stable. When I was introduced to participate in the job fair and received career guidance, I got a stable job.
The salary is enough to take care of the children's education. Many young people in the area also have stable jobs, improving their quality of life," said Mr. Dong.
According to Mr. Vu Van Sang (Phuc Ung commune, Son Duong district), job orientation and livelihood creation help many families here sustainably reduce poverty. In addition to a stable salary, having solid skills helps people feel confident when stepping out into society. The improved quality of life leads to the development of the homeland. Hopefully, career guidance and job connection programs will be increasingly expanded.
According to Mr. Giang Tuan Anh - Chairman of Son Duong District People's Committee, despite many difficulties in implementing the National Target Programs, thanks to consensus and high determination, timely support policies have significantly changed the appearance of the countryside and people's lives. The special point is that the way of thinking and working of the people have had many positive changes, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.
Son Duong district is aiming to have 100% of communes meeting new rural standards by the end of 2025. In the 2021-2025 period, Son Duong aims to create jobs for more than 16,700 workers and provide vocational training for more than 7,500 people. At the same time, it will develop specific economic models, contributing to bringing the poverty rate down to below 15% by the end of 2025.
To realize this, the locality has taken the right direction in promoting vocational training and creating livelihoods for the people. This is the core foundation in sustainable poverty reduction.
