Muong Thanh Market and Trade Service Project (Muong Thanh Tourist Market) is about 1.8 hectares wide, located in Muong Thanh Ward, Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province; with a total investment of over 193 billion VND invested by Quang Ninh National Capital Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
The project started in November 2023, belonging to group B projects; level III civil purpose works (markets); level IV technical infrastructure works; level IV traffic works. The project's operation period is 50 years (calculated from the date the investor is decided to allocate land, decide to lease land, decide to change land use purpose).
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the investor is urgently focusing on machinery and human resources to complete the project in the second quarter of 2025.
The project has outstanding items such as: Muong Thanh Market with a scale of 2 1-storey communal houses (area of 2,689m2); 1-storey auxiliary area, management board house (construction area of 245m2); 3-storey kiosk lot (construction area of 2,990m2) and kiosk surrounding the market (construction scale of 3.5 floors with a total area of over 2,700m2).
In addition, there is the DV01 service area (commercial and service works, landscape trees); the DV02 service area (oldscale of 5 floors) and the DV03 service area (oldscale of 5 floors).
When completed, Muong Thanh Tourist Market will help improve the aesthetics, improve spontaneous business problems, improve the environment of the existing market area, build a new place to supply goods, food, provisions... to people in the area, create jobs for hundreds of individual households participating in trading and exchanging goods.
Mr. Tran Van Son - Vice Chairman of Muong Thanh Ward People's Committee said that when completed, Muong Thanh tourist market will create a new attractive tourist destination when it is close to famous places such as: A1 hill, A1 bridge, Dien Bien Phu historical victory museum... and will attract visitors to visit and shop for goods.
The project is designed with many modern items combined with traditional architecture emphasizing the characteristic features of stone-roofed stilt houses of the Thai ethnic group. The project not only meets the needs of the people but also brings a completely new living and working space.
This project is one of the projects started on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 2024), when completed, it will meet the standards of the first Grade I market in Dien Bien province. However, site clearance is still facing many difficulties, so it is not possible to build on schedule according to plan.
