On April 3, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Cao Bang province issued Official Letter No. 577/SNNMT-QLMT to the Provincial People's Committee Office on publicizing the content of the Report proposing to grant an Environmental License for the Tra Linh Town Clean Water Supply Plant Project, Trung Khanh District.
Accordingly, on March 24, 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment received a complete dossier requesting an Environmental License for the project.
Based on current regulations, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the Provincial People's Committee Office to coordinate in posting information and taking the next steps according to regulations.
Regarding the above clean water project, Lao Dong Newspaper has had many articles reflecting. The project was approved by the Cao Bang People's Committee in May 2021, with the Cao Bang Economic Zone Management Board as the investor, with a total cost of 50 billion VND.
Since the end of 2023, the investor has completed the construction, this project is responsible for providing domestic water for people in Tra Linh town and the Tra Linh International Border Gate area. However, due to lack of pipelines and many reasons and problems, the project has not yet been put into use.
According to the investor's representative, in the first quarter of 2025, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province approved the investment in a level II pipeline and a water supply network for border gate areas, towns and neighboring communes with a budget of about 14.5 billion VND.
The project is expected to start construction at the end of the second quarter of 2025 and supply water by the end of 2025. Thus, according to the plan, it will take another year for the Tra Linh town clean water plant to officially operate.
