The series of collisions between two container trucks and three trucks occurred at around 7:00 p.m. on April 10 on Phu My bridge, from District 7 to Thu Duc City, causing serious traffic congestion for a long time.

According to initial information, a truck driven by a male driver was going down the Phu My bridge when it suddenly hit the back of a tractor-trailer carrying chemicals running in front.
Immediately afterwards, due to not keeping a safe distance, two other trucks and another tractor-trailer that could not be processed rushed forward, creating a chain of consecutive collisions on the bridge.

The accident caused severe damage to the front and rear of the vehicles, blocking the traffic lanes. In which, a truck's cabin was completely deformed, the windshield was broken.
Fortunately, the driver and the bus assistant promptly opened the underpass and went out without being injured.

This serious incident caused a traffic jam lasting about 2 km on Phu My bridge. The Traffic Police force quickly arrived at the scene to record the incident and at the same time took measures to move the damaged vehicles to relieve the congestion.

Initially, the authorities determined that the cause could be due to the first truck driver not keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front when going down the bridge, leading to a series of collisions.
Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police continue to investigate to clarify the exact cause of this series of accidents.
