In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, delegates, officers, soldiers of the armed forces and people of Dien Bien respectfully remembered and expressed infinite gratitude to the outstanding children of the nation who sacrificed for the freedom of the Fatherland, for the peace and happiness of the People.
Implementing the "Operation of 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains", levels, sectors, and armed forces of Dien Bien province have made efforts to search, discover and repatriate 2 martyrs' remains for burial at the Independence Martyrs' Cemetery.
Although the names, hometowns, units and time of sacrifice have not been determined, the martyrs share the noble title of Heroic Martyrs, have a sacred common Mother who is the Vietnamese Fatherland and will forever be engraved in the hearts of today's and future generations.

At the ceremony, the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of ethnic groups in Dien Bien province vowed to continue to promote the heroic Dien Bien Phu tradition; unite to build an increasingly developed homeland; firmly protect national border sovereignty.
At the same time, the province continues to implement well policies for people with meritorious services; take good care of families of martyrs, wounded soldiers, and sick soldiers; preserve meritorious works and educate revolutionary traditions for the young generation.
The burial ceremony closed the journey of searching for and bringing 2 sets of martyrs' remains to their solemn resting place, but the journey of finding the names, homeland and relatives for the martyrs continues.
Functional agencies of Dien Bien province will continue to coordinate, persistently collect information, take biological samples, and compare data with the highest responsibility and determination.
