Ring Road V of the Capital Region
Ring Road 5 passes through 8 localities with a total investment of 86,000 billion VND, including nearly 29 km of Thai Nguyen. Currently, the section from National Highway 37 to Yen Binh intersection (Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway) is over 10 km long, with an investment of more than 1,000 billion VND, and has been completed.
According to PV's records in mid-September 2024, the Ring Road V section through Thai Nguyen was put into use, however, the traffic density was quite sparse, mainly local people.
Ms. Ly Thi Hoa (Pho Yen City) said: "The road will be put into use from the end of 2023, people are very happy because the road is wide, connecting all the way to Bac Giang. We hope that many factories and industrial parks will be built on both sides of the road, creating jobs for our children and grandchildren."
Currently, most of the surrounding areas are agricultural land, passing through many residential areas and some industrial and urban areas. This billion-dollar road is designed as a second-class car road, with a speed of 100km/h, with lighting, drainage, sidewalks and trees.
The completion of more than 10km of Ring Road V through Thai Nguyen has helped connect the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway with National Highway 37 and Bac Giang province; at the same time, connecting neighboring areas with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway and National Highway 37, promoting industrial and service development in the region.
Regional connecting road 3,800 billion VND
The Thai Nguyen - Bac Giang - Vinh Phuc regional connecting route (regional connecting route) is over 42.5km long, with a total investment of nearly 3,800 billion VND, invested by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
Started in May 2022, after more than 2 years of implementation, the project is ahead of schedule with many locations starting to be paved, moving towards completing the entire route.
According to the project investor, by the end of August 2024, the site clearance work along the entire route had reached 99.8%. The roadbed had been constructed for 41/42 km, and the asphalt concrete pavement had reached 13/42.55 km. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 and put into use in early 2025.
Mr. Pham Quang Anh - Director of the Department of Transport of Thai Nguyen province said that the gradual completion of the transport infrastructure system has contributed to improving connectivity capacity and promoting local socio-economic development.
"The completed and put into use projects have proven effective, clearly demonstrating the interconnected nature, opening up new development space, facilitating planning work, creating land funds, and promoting investment attraction for industrial, urban, and service development," said Mr. Pham Quang Anh.
In 2024, the total disbursement plan for public investment capital in Thai Nguyen province, including both central and local capital sources, is nearly 15,000 billion VND. However, some key projects in the area still face difficulties in compensation and site clearance, which more or less affects the disbursement of public investment capital.
Thai Nguyen province strives to disburse 90% of the plan by the end of the fourth quarter and disburse 100% of the public investment capital plan by the end of January 2025 according to the regulations of the 2024 fiscal year. In particular, focusing on key traffic projects and works.
