The new look of the billion-dollar transport project on the Lao Cai border

Lao Cai - After more than 2 years of construction, the Provincial Road 156 upgrade project, Kim Thanh - Ngoi Phat section, has completed many items.

On June 24, at Provincial Road 156, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, many sections of the billion-dong traffic project have been paved with asphalt. People's travel in these areas is now more convenient.

Along the road, many high-capacity machines have been mobilized, ready for the road construction process.

In addition, in some areas of the project, construction of items such as trees, landscape and drainage is currently being carried out.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen (Quang Kim commune, Bat Xat district) said: "After many years of construction, this project has completed many routes, thereby helping to change the landscape along the banks of the Red River. Our travel on the paved roads is also very fast and easy. Therefore, we hope the project will be completed soon so that the transport infrastructure will be synchronized and trade will be promoted".

Also on this traffic route, the border bridge project across the Red River is being urgently constructed.

After completion, the bridge will help promote trade between Lao Cai and China, leading to the development of the surrounding area.

Through research, the investment project to build a border bridge over the Red River in Ban Vuoc commune and connecting infrastructure includes 3 components, implemented in the period of 2021-2025.

In which, component 1: Construction of a border bridge across the Red River; upgrading Provincial Road 156 (Kim Thanh - Ngoi Phat) from the intersection with BV32 and BV28 roads to the intersection with BV190 road (3km long); upgrading and renovating the Noi Bai - Lao Cai IC 18 expressway intersection.

Component 2 includes: Upgrading Provincial Road 156 (Kim Thanh - Ngoi Phat) from Quang Kim Bridge to the intersection with BV32 and BV28 roads (8km long) and leveling the ground on both sides of the road with a depth of 50m; component 3: Upgrading and renovating IC19 intersection.

Total investment: 1,490 billion VND, Central budget support 950 billion VND, Local budget matches 540 billion VND.

The construction units are Minh Duc General Construction Company Limited, Cuong Thinh Thi Construction Investment and Development Joint Stock Company and Dong Hung Development Investment Joint Stock Company.

Information from the Lao Cai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, after a period of construction, the upgrading, renovation and paving of many sections on Provincial Road 156 have been completed.

For the border bridge project across the Red River connecting Bat Xat (Vietnam) - Ba Sai (China), the total investment capital is about 282 billion VND, and is currently being accelerated, striving to complete by September 2026.
