As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province and the Provincial Party Committee of Binh Duong province have unanimously approved the project to end district-level activities, reorganizing 91 administrative units into 36 communes and wards.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, all 36 communes and wards after the arrangement have met and exceeded the standards prescribed in Resolution No. 76/2025/UBTVQH15.
The ward level after the merger in Binh Duong must meet the criteria, with an area of 5.5 km2 and a population of 45,000 people.
Notably, after the arrangement, Di An ward is the administrative unit with the largest population in Binh Duong province. Di An ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of the wards: Di An, An Binh and Tan Dong Hiep ward (with the neighborhoods of Chieu Lieu, Chieu Lieu A, Dong Chieu, Dong Chieu A, Tan Long, Dong Tac).
After the arrangement, Di An ward has a total natural area of 21.45 km2 (reaching 388.64% of the regulations), population of 227,817 people (reaching 506.26% of the regulations).
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, Di An ward will be a key area of Di An city. The headquarters of Di An ward will be located at Di An City People's Committee. This is an area that has been planned quite systematically in a dynamically developing urban area. This new ward will inherit a spacious, modern infrastructure system and facilities.
According to current records, the 3 wards merged into Di An ward are all central areas of Di An city, in which An Binh ward borders Ho Chi Minh City. All three wards above have developed industries with a large concentration of workers. Of which, Binh Duong Industrial Park of An Binh Ward and Song Than Industrial Park of Di An Ward are the two oldest industrial parks in Binh Duong Province. In Tan Dong Hiep ward alone, there are industrial factories located in residential areas.
The People's Committee of Binh Duong province said that according to the plan just approved by the province, industrial parks and factories in the new Di An ward will in the future be relocated to industrial parks in the North of Binh Duong province.
The land area of relocated industrial parks will be converted to serve the development of education, urban areas, and services. Therefore, in the future, these areas will continue to attract new investment and attract new labor forces and people to live.
