According to the project to reorganize commune and ward-level administrative units of Binh Duong province, Thuan An city currently has 10 communes and wards, expected to be divided into 5 wards.
Merge An Son commune, Hung Dinh ward and An Thanh ward, taking the name Thuan An ward. The head office is located in Hung Dinh ward.
Merge Thuan Giao ward and Binh Quoi A and Binh Quoi B quarters, Binh Phu quarter of Binh Chuan ward, and take the name Thuan Giao ward. The head office is located in Binh Chuan ward.
Merge Binh Hoa ward and Trung quarter, Dong quarter, Phu Hoi quarter of Vinh Phu ward, named Binh Hoa ward. The head office is located in Binh Hoa ward.
Merge Lai Thieu ward, Binh Nham ward and Hoa Long quarter, Tay quarter of Vinh Phu ward, named Lai Thieu ward. The headquarters is located at the People's Committee of Thuan An city (this is a key ward of Thuan An area).
Merge An Phu ward and Binh Phuoc A quarter, Binh Phuoc B ward under Binh Chuan ward, named An Phu ward. The head office is located in An Phu ward.
One of the most developed localities in Binh Duong
According to records, Thuan An city is the most populous locality in Binh Duong province with about 750,000 people. The natural area of the city is only about 8,370 hectares, making it one of the localities with the smallest area in Binh Duong province.
With its location bordering Ho Chi Minh City, Thuan An city quickly develops industry - urban - service. The locality has 3 industrial parks (VSIP 1, Dong An, Viet Huong) and 2 industrial clusters (Binh Chuan, An Thanh), along with thousands of factories located in residential areas.
In 2024, the industrial production value of Thuan An city will reach about 288,950 billion VND, trade and services will reach 134,115 billion VND, and agriculture will reach 128 billion VND. Total local budget revenue reached VND 8,725 billion.
In the first quarter of 2025, the city's industrial production value is estimated at VND69,722 billion (up 5.8%), total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at VND34,386 billion (up 16.68%) over the same period in 2024.
Thuan An city has many major routes passing through such as My Phuoc Tan Van, National Highway 13, DT 743. Currently, the city is working with Binh Duong province to implement major transport infrastructure projects such as Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 and National Highway 13 expansion.
Notably, the city is also preparing to develop transport infrastructure along the Saigon River. Some sections of the Saigon River road have been approved for investment by the Provincial People's Council. In addition, the city will also invest in more bridges across the Saigon River to better connect with Ho Chi Minh City.
Need for more affordable housing for workers
This is a locality with a large concentration of workers in Binh Duong. However, apartment projects are only concentrated in commercial buildings. Currently, Thuan An city is in great need of more low-cost apartments and social housing for workers.
