Basically completing the project
The project to renovate sidewalks, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Le Loi streets and some inner-city roads was approved by the 16th Hai Phong City People's Council at the 10th session. In which, the renovation and expansion of Le Loi street (starting point intersecting with Cau Dat street, ending point at May To intersection, length about 1.36 km), the city renovates and expands the road surface to an average of 2m on each side to ensure a minimum road surface width of 12m, and a minimum width of sidewalks of 3m on each side.
Specifically, for the sections from Doi Can alley to Pham Minh Duc intersection (about 174 m) and from alley 182 to alley 212 (about 124 m), the road surface is widened by an average of 5m on the left side, 2m on the right side... The project officially started construction at the end of August 2025, according to the plan to be completed in June 2025.

Previously, on November 13, through actual inspection of the project progress, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau requested relevant departments and local authorities to proactively coordinate with the Hai Phong Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board to accelerate the construction progress and complete the Le Loi road and sidewalk renovation project in December 2025. Construction must ensure quality, synchronization, and strictly prohibit cutting roads and sidewalks after completion.
According to Lao Dong reporters' records, by the end of the afternoon of December 30, the expansion on both sides of the road was completed. However, some sidewalk sections have not been paved with bricks, and there are still scattered construction materials, which are being urgently completed by construction units.

After many months of traffic jams and dust, people are very happy now that the road is almost completed, people have business premises before Tet. We hope the contractor will quickly complete the remaining parts, clean up materials, sand and stone so that the road is clean, beautiful, and spacious before Tet" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (65 years old, Gia Vien ward) said.
Strive to complete the entire project
The Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport and Agricultural Works of Hai Phong said that the renovation and expansion of Le Loi road and the renovation of 16 inner-city roads with a total length of 11.18 km have been basically completed so far. The contractor is urgently completing auxiliary items to ensure completion as directed (December 31, 2025).

In addition to the item of renovating and expanding Le Loi street, the sidewalk renovation project, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Le Loi streets and some inner-city streets of the city also have the renovation and expansion of Nguyen Binh Khiem street (section from Van Cao street to Kieu Son pumping station, length about 0.83 km). In which, the renovation and expansion of Nguyen Binh Khiem street on the right side of the route, ensuring the road boundary on one side of the road is 27m/54m according to the plan, sidewalk width 6m; renovating the surface water and wastewater drainage system on the route, moving and replacing green trees... However, the progress of sidewalk renovation and Nguyen Binh Khiem street is slow due to site clearance issues, and the situation of households encroaching and illegally building.

Therefore, the Hai Phong Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board requested Gia Vien Ward People's Committee to complete site clearance and hand over the construction site of Nguyen Binh Khiem street (section from Van Cao street to Kieu Son pumping station) in the second quarter of 2026. People's Committees of related wards to the project continue to support and propagate to households to support and create conditions to implement and complete the construction of the project.
