In the days leading up to the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the streets in the center of Nghe An province became bustling when a series of stores and stalls simultaneously displayed Tet decorations, creating a vibrant shopping atmosphere.
Recorded along both sides of Le Huan street, traditional Tet decoration products are displayed densely with red and yellow as the main colors. This is considered one of the large-scale Tet decoration points of Nghe An province, attracting a large number of people to visit and shop every spring.
Familiar items such as apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, lanterns, red couplets, decorative firecrackers, lucky money envelopes, banh chung and fake watermelons are sold in a variety of designs and sizes. The prices of products are generally stable compared to the previous year, ranging from a few thousand VND for small decorations to several hundred thousand, even millions of VND for large miniatures and models, which are elaborately processed.
From around November of the lunar calendar, small traders have started importing goods to serve the peak season at the end of the year. Besides goods from major sources, many stores also make handicrafts themselves to create highlights and increase attractiveness to buyers.
In the year of Binh Ngo, products bearing the image of the horse mascot appear quite a lot, with rich designs, bright colors, carrying the meaning of luck and fortune. Among them, large decorative paper fans are chosen by many customers, with selling prices ranging from a few hundred thousand to more than 2 million VND.
With the shopping atmosphere increasingly bustling, the Tet decoration market in Nghe An is forecast to continue to be vibrant in the peak days before Tet.
