On July 1, information from the Ministry of Public Security, in the early morning of June 30 (local time), after completing the field survey and stabilizing barracks on the first day of arriving in Venezuela, the Vietnamese rescue and relief team immediately deployed forces, focusing on searching for victims in the most severely damaged area in Playa Grande ward, Catia la Mar district, La Guaira state.
The search site of the Vietnamese Rescue and Relief Team is a large area with many collapsed high-rise buildings. The team is divided into many groups to perform search tasks at different locations. In which, the Ministry of Public Security's Rescue and Relief Team is divided into groups to perform search and rescue at a 9-story apartment building that has collapsed almost completely.
According to local people, at present there are still about 15 people trapped under these rubble. As soon as they arrived at the scene, nghiệp vụ dogs were mobilized to search and cordon off the victim's location. The next deployment steps were also carefully calculated by officers and soldiers to deploy safely and effectively.
However, on the actual site, this apartment building collapsed very complicatedly, the risk of further secondary collapse is very high. Therefore, accessing the location of the victims is facing many difficulties.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Fire and Rescue Police Department, Hai Phong City Police, member of the Vietnamese rescue and relief delegation in Venezuela said that on the morning of June 30 (local time), the delegation was determined today to find as many people as possible and complete all assigned tasks. With the spirit of rescuing people as quickly as possible, but it is necessary to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles.
Lieutenant Nguyen Van Hoa - Soldier, Mobile Police Command, Ministry of Public Security - said that he and his teammates will try to find as many people as possible at the scene of the collapse after the earthquake at the above location. He will go with his dog to search for victims (live or dead), mark the location so that other forces in the team can rescue them.
According to the latest information from the rescue and relief team of the Vietnamese Police, by about 4 pm on June 30 (local time), functional forces had recovered a victim's body from the rubble of the 9-story building that collapsed earlier.
The delegation will continue rescue and relief work in the following days.
