At exactly 12:15 pm (local time) on June 29, the plane carrying officers and soldiers of the Vietnamese Rescue and Relief Team landed at an airport in Venezuela.

During the flight of more than 22 hours, the members of the delegation were arranged to rest to prepare for the rescue mission that is considered very arduous ahead.

Although there are many emotional states, all officers and soldiers want to quickly access the scene and be ready to perform their duties.

According to the plan, as soon as they arrive in the capital Caracas, Venezuela, the delegation will travel about 40km to the scene, then deploy forces and vehicles to immediately start the search and rescue mission.

It is known that Simón Bolívar International Airport, in Maiquetía City - where the delegation's private jets landed, is the main air gateway serving the capital Caracas and also one of the 12 most important airports in Venezuela. Two earthquakes on the afternoon of June 25 caused many buildings to collapse, causing panic at this airport and raising tsunami warnings in some coastal areas.

During their time in Venezuela, the working delegation will coordinate with the local rescue forces and international rescue teams to participate in searching for missing people, medical examination and treatment, supporting the recovery from earthquake consequences and performing other tasks as required by the Venezuelan side, in accordance with the delegation's expertise and capabilities. This is not only a rescue and relief mission but also Vietnam's sharing of the losses that the Venezuelan people are facing. Our wish is to help the Venezuelan people minimize damage, search and rescue in the most effective way," said Colonel Pham Hung Duong - Deputy Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department, Head of the Ministry of Public Security's working delegation.

We have prepared all the equipment to be able to search and rescue in construction collapses. In addition, we also prepare food, foodstuffs, and necessities to be able to support victims and victims in the country where incidents and natural disasters occur" - Lieutenant Do Quang Nam - Training and Response Center for Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue, Department of Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue said.
