On August 18, the interdisciplinary inspection team of Quang Tri province chaired by the Department of Science and Technology informed about the incident related to a post on social media with the content of "1 scale is 8 thang".
For 2 consecutive days, the team inspected 105 weights (mainly spring weights) of traders at Dong Hoi market (Quang Tri province), most of which were in the seafood business area.
The team used specialized technical equipment, applying calculation methods according to scientific standards to compare the results of each scale.
Through inspection, 6 weights were found to have an average error at the maximum load of about 10% or less. The inspection team is taking administrative sanctions against traders using incorrect weights according to the law.
Regarding information on social networks that seafood sellers had made statements as in the post, the inspection team confirmed that this incident did not happen.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, many posts and images appeared on Facebook that were said to be at Dong Hoi market (Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri province) with the content:
Sudden inspection at Dong Hoi market, Quang Binh: 1 scale has 8 beds. When the officials asked why she was so underweight, the seafood seller with cold eyes said: "If you want to be old enough to weigh enough, you have to report to someone in advance to prepare. Now that it has come so suddenly, who can be prepared without shortage?
