Difficulties in recruiting unskilled workers
The shortage of labor, especially skilled workers and engineers, is a big challenge for businesses in Da Nang, typically Foxlink and Daiwa. At the 2025 Business Dialogue Conference with the theme "Dialogue to remove obstacles - Connecting for development", Ms. Ngo Pham Tran - advisor to Foxlink Electronics Group - said that despite signing cooperation agreements with most training schools in the city and neighboring provinces, the number of recruited workers has not yet met demand.
This problem is getting more serious as Foxlink is expanding production, needing thousands of more workers in the near future. Ms. Tran emphasized that the lack of effective information channels and support from state agencies are the main causes of difficulties in recruitment.
Ms. Tran suggested that the Department of Home Affairs support Foxlink in accessing recruitment information channels effectively, providing information about human resources, and at the same time creating more favorable conditions for coordination with schools and labor supply units.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - Director of Daiwa Vietnam Company - also shared similar difficulties. With a current workforce of about 3,500, Daiwa is also having a hard time recruiting. Mr. Phu said that although Daiwa has applied many recruitment methods, from self-reliance to cooperation with outside recruitment units, it still cannot meet human resource needs.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phu said: "Seeing your face, I find it gentle, if you don't have a tattoo, I will call you to work right away".
Commitment to supporting connectivity
At the conference, representatives of the Department of Home Affairs pledged to support connecting, finding human resources, and at the same time advise on documents sent to training units in Da Nang city and neighboring provinces about the recruitment needs of businesses. The Department also recommends that businesses provide full information on recruitment needs, adjust salary levels, appropriate treatment regimes and simplify recruitment processes to attract workers.
Mr. Vu Quang Hung - Head of the Management Board of the High -Tech Park and Da Nang Industrial Parks - said: "Currently, the Management Board of the High -Tech Park and Da Nang Industrial Parks (DSEZA) unified four strategic pillars. The first is the high -tech parks. The second is industrial parks and centralized companies.
After the merger of administrative units, we will receive 3 more industrial parks in operation and 10 industrial parks with plans in Quang Nam. Thus, we will receive about 5,600 more hectares of industrial land in Quang Nam".
Mr. Hung said that this is a strategic step and creates both opportunities and challenges, requiring DSEZA to innovate the operating model. Thereby, improving coordination capacity, promoting investment, reforming procedures and needing stronger support from the business community.
