Many green initiatives come into practice
Climate change is no longer a distant warning but has directly impacted life, agriculture, the economy and the ecosystem. To deal with this situation, the Vietnamese Government has issued a series of policies such as: National Green Growth Strategy, 1 billion tree planting program and encouraging businesses towards a sustainable development model.
In addition to strong movements from the State sector, the private sector also plays an important role. The Net Zero commitment creates motivation for businesses to transform, but this journey is not easy when economic sectors have to cut emissions while still maintaining growth. Therefore, green initiatives are highly appreciated by experts.
Recently, the Green Future Fund - Vingroup Corporation officially launched the "Green Fourth Day" campaign - a day to encourage the community to join hands to make small but practical changes to protect the environment. The program is a concrete step to realize the commitment to spreading a green lifestyle, towards a sustainable future for everyone.
Dr. Le Thai Ha - Executive Director of the Green Future Fund - said: Vietnam's journey towards a Net Zero commitment by 2050 is not only the responsibility of the Government or large enterprises but also requires the cooperation of each citizen. Green Fourth Day is a campaign with the spirit of the whole country - the whole people - Comprehensive, aiming to change lifestyle, creating a greener future for the next generation. When the whole community takes action, small changes can create great strength. We hope that the campaign will become a movement and spread widely to all areas of life.
Before Green Fourth Day, Vingroup has successfully organized and implemented campaigns such as Invincible Vietnamese spirit - For a green future (June 2024) and the For a green capital campaign (January 2025). Vingroup staff also take the lead in implementing environmental protection initiatives across the entire multi-industry, multi-service ecosystem, such as pioneering green transformation and electric vehicle travel, demonstrating a strong commitment to the goal of environmental protection.
In particular, in 2024, companies in the Vingroup ecosystem have applied a series of green initiatives, contributing strongly to reducing emissions equivalent to nearly 420,000 tons of CO2.
One of the effective and practical solutions is to increase forest coverage, help restore the ecosystem and absorb CO2 - one of the main causes of climate change.
Currently, forest restoration programs are not simply about increasing coverage but also aim at more sustainable goals such as biodiversity protection, creating livelihoods for local communities and restoring degraded forest areas.
forest to Green and Restoration of the index initiated by the Center for People and Nature ( PanNature) are one of such programs.
Meanwhile, "Forests Rising" focuses on restoring forest areas in the Northwest, "Restoration of the index" aims to restore forests in the buffer zone of Kon Ka Kinh National Park and Kon Ha Nung World Biosphere Reserve, with the goal of replanting native trees and restoring ecosystems affected by 08/026 farming. Forest planting not only helps absorb CO2 but also plays an important role in maintaining ecological balance, protecting water resources and responding to climate change.
Net Zero: Long-term commitment to a sustainable future
Towards the mission of Net Zero, Tales by Chapter accompanies PanNature and the "Resurrection of the index" program to restore the area of afforestation for the community in Kon Pne, Gia Lai. Not only a sponsor, Tales by Chapter wishes to spread the spirit of sustainable development in a close and practical way: Each meal at Tales contributes to planting a tree, creating opportunities for businesses and individuals to join hands to reduce emissions and restore nature.
Former Dr. Vu Tien Loc - former President of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) - once emphasized that Vietnam has identified a sustainable development model with a green economy, green society, green lifestyle, promoting sustainable consumption and greening the transition process. This is an important orientation in the sustainable development strategy and national action program until 2030.
The Net Zero journey is challenging but completely feasible. Vietnamese enterprises are proving that green business is not only a responsibility but also an opportunity for innovation, creating value for the community. With steady steps, it is hoped that more and more businesses will join hands to realize the Net Zero commitment.
