At noon on September 18, functional forces found the body of a male student of the University of Mining and Geology swept away by water in the Pho Vien bridge area (Dong Ngac ward, Hanoi).
Talking to reporters, Mr. Tran Van Cuong - Head of the Rescue and Relief Team of Ghenh Che Lake (Thai Nguyen) said that last night, September 17, members of the Rescue and Relief Team of Ghenh Che Lake went to Hanoi to coordinate with functional agencies to carry out search and rescue work.
After approaching the scene on the evening of September 17, the members began to survey the riverbed. According to Mr. Cuong, yesterday's water level was very high, water from the sewer flowing into the Nhue River flowed swiftly.
With such strong water force and with the wide sewer terrain, rescue members did not miss any option and also put forward many hypotheses" - Mr. Cuong said.
Next, the Rescue Team calculated the time the victim was in the sewer and the time it drifted out into the river.
Until this morning, when functional forces allowed them to open manhole covers, members of the Team proceeded to open manhole covers to clear the flow. Each manhole here is about 5-7m long.
Some members were on duty and searching in the spillway area (Pho Vien bridge area), nearly 1km from the location where the male student was swept away.
At this time, another group coordinated with functional forces to re-examine the manhole covers. A diving team inside the manhole.
We found the victim at 11:25 am in the spillway area" - Mr. Cuong said.

According to Lao Dong's records, at 12:54 pm, the victim was taken from the riverbank to an ambulance and left the scene at 1 pm.
According to the report of the Dong Ngac Ward Party Committee, at about 10 am on September 17, people discovered a Honda Wave motorbike with license plate 18F5-55xx falling in the area near the drainage ditch, and no driver was found around.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Ward Police force and functional forces were present at the scene, proceeded to protect the scene, verify information and implement handling measures according to regulations.
Through screening, it was determined that the motorbike was in the name of Mr. N.D. S (born in 1976, residing in My Loc, Ninh Binh).
The family gave Mr. S's son, Mr. N.D. S (born in 2008), to use as a means of transportation. Mr. S is studying at the University of Mining and Geology, Hanoi.
