On the afternoon of July 30, in the process of performing the task of searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains in phase XXVI (dry season 2026-2027), Team K92, Military Command (CHQS) of An Giang province searched and exhumed 3 martyrs' remains in the area of Xom Khi cemetery, Kien Luong commune, An Giang province.
This is the result after two days of deploying tasks according to the Plan of the An Giang Provincial Military Command on organizing the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains who sacrificed in various periods in the province, phase XXVI (dry season 2026-2027), and at the same time responding to the 500-day and night Campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains.
According to information provided by local people and veterans, the Xom Khi cemetery area is the burial place of many officers and soldiers who sacrificed in fierce battles from 1968 to 1970, and also some martyrs who sacrificed in the war to protect the Southwest border. On that basis, Team K92 conducted surveys, verifications, zoning and organized searches according to professional procedures.
During the search, officers and soldiers of Team K92 discovered and exhumed 3 sets of martyrs' remains. Immediately after that, the unit proceeded to clean the remains, collect, classify, prepare dossiers and preserve them in accordance with regulations to serve management and information verification before organizing burial according to plan.
The discovery of 3 martyrs' remains right in the early days of deployment is the result of close coordination between Team K92 and local Party committees and authorities, historical witnesses and veterans who directly participated in combat in the area. This is an important source of information to help narrow the search scope and improve the effectiveness of the work of repatriating martyrs' remains.
