In 2024, with the responsibility of ensuring railway traffic safety and order on the Quang Binh route, Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company has achieved many encouraging results to maintain traffic safety, despite facing many difficulties in the implementation process.
On January 24, Mr. Tran Ngoc Son - Director of Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company said that the railway line passing through Quang Binh is 174.5 km long, managing 76 level crossings, of which 30 have guards, 46 have automatic warnings and 120 open paths. The steep terrain, many tunnels and small curves of the railway line increase the difficulty in traffic safety management.
In addition, the barriers to self-opened walkways are often removed by people after completion. This poses a potential risk of accidents, especially in densely populated areas.
The company has organized propaganda to raise awareness about railway traffic safety and the risks of self-opening walkways.
The company has coordinated with the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee and relevant agencies to organize 11 periodic inspections at 76 level crossings. The 24/7 camera monitoring system helps detect and promptly handle dangerous situations.
2024 saw an effort to reduce illegal crossings. 19 illegal crossings were closed, including 11 in Tuyen Hoa district, 5 in Ba Don town, 2 in Dong Hoi city and 1 in Le Thuy district. In addition, 16 other crossings were narrowed.
The company works closely with authorities to inspect and prevent violations of railway safety, such as throwing rocks at trains or theft. Security work is carried out regularly, ensuring absolute safety for trains.
For 2025, the company aims to increase inspections and repairs of level crossings, focusing on dangerous areas. Propaganda work will be expanded, targeting people living along the railway and students. In particular, the application of modern monitoring technology will be promoted to ensure absolute safety for trains.
