On January 15, the Vietnam Railway Trade Union organized the program "Happy Tet - Spring thanks to the Party" for workers at Xuan Giao station (Bao Thang district, Lao Cai province).
Speaking at the program, Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong - Chairman of Vietnam Railway Trade Union - acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of workers in the past time.
According to Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong, in 2024, the railway industry suffered many difficulties and losses due to storms and floods. Through the appeal, within 7 days, units and localities mobilized more than 3 billion VND to promptly support more than 1,100 workers and laborers.
In particular, the production and business results in 2024 are outstanding compared to the same period, with an estimated profit after tax of VND 220 billion. This is an encouraging thing after a long period of difficulties for the railway industry.
Along with that, the care for workers has been improved. The application of science and technology in digital transformation in railway business has also made progress.
"The efforts of more than 20,000 workers and laborers have helped the railway industry achieve new successes. Hopefully, in the coming time, workers and laborers of the railway industry will try harder to help the industry achieve new successes" - Chairman of the Vietnam Railway Trade Union expressed.
Mr. Dao Anh Tuan - General Director of the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company also shared: “Over the past year, the units have proactively taken care of the material and spiritual life of workers. Along with that, creating conditions for workers who live far away and have not had the opportunity to return home for a long time, coordinating to review difficult cases to request support from Vietnam Railway Corporation and Vietnam Railway Trade Union. Up to now, the units have fully paid salaries, bonuses, and support to workers and laborers”.
According to Mr. Dao Anh Tuan, every time Tet comes, everyone wants to gather with their family around a small meal to welcome the new year. But that is also the time when the railway industry must strive to serve customers and people by organizing safe and convenient trains with the determination "to not let anyone go without Tet".
